The heart of our community.
The Balingup Hall has been used for the past 124 years for social functions such as balls, concerts, film shows, church services, weddings, a Child Health Clinic, a local medical service, library, and shire offices. It has undoubtable served as the heart of the Balingup community on many an occasion.
The dream of the BACH is to see the Town Hall used again to celebrate all of life’s most important milestones. Aesthetic alterations to the hall have recently been undertaken to enhance its heritage beauty.
The hall was built in 1898 from locally made bricks and provided a much-needed meeting place for social gatherings, meetings, school concerts and balls. The first show was organised by the Agricultural Society in 1909 and was opened by the Minister for Agriculture. In 1928 ratepayers petitioned for an addition to be made to the hall to accommodate a stage and ladies dressing accommodation, and so the hall as we know it was built, with the original building converted to a supper room and Road Board offices.
